The Benet Rothstein Chabad Jewish Center in Glastonbury, Connecticut, dedicated and welcomed the brand new Mark Tsvok Memorial Torah on Sunday.
The scroll, which took nearly a year to write, was dedicated by Mr. Ilya Tsvok in loving memory of his son, Mark.
Despite the rainy weather, hundreds of local residents came together to celebrate this historic event. After the scribe concluded the Torah, the scroll was marched with great happiness to the sanctuary of the Chabad Center.
Then, following much singing and dancing, participants sat down for a celebratory lunch.
“This Torah has already brought much joy to many local families,” said Rabbi Yosef Wolvovsky, Director of the Chabad Jewish Center. “It will surely continue to do so for many years to come.”
