Harper in Tribute to Mumbai

The Thursday reception Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper held for over 100 Chabad Shluchim and rabbis was also a tribute to Chabad's slain Shluchim to Mumbai, Rabbi Gavriel and Rivka Holtzberg. Let us not forget the real pioneers of Yiddishkeit in Canada who were the nine Bochurim that the Freierediker Rebbe sent from Warsaw to Montreal in 1941. At first people made bets how quickly their hats, beards, peyos etc. will be gone, which obviously never happened. When a wealthy Yid offered them a gret sum of money to leave Montreal and go to Toronto, they responded ” we will soon be there also, any complaints, there is our Rebbe in NY, we just follow what he tells us”. rabbi kotlarsky is not from mtl, he grew up on carroll, but his father was one of the 9 bochrim ( one of them chaim mendelsohns grandfather ) who the frierdike rebbe sent to canada and they started the first yeshiva in canada in 1941
