Governor of New York David Paterson lit the World’s Largest Chanukah Menorah on Fifth Avenue in New York.
Paterson went up in the Con Edison lift together with Rabbi Shmuel Butman, Director Lubavitch Youth Organization.
Speaking from the “Menorah Heights,” he thanked Rabbi Butman, “my friend for over twenty years” and reminisced how he greeted Rabbi Butman and the Lubavitch delegation when they came to Albany to accept a proclamation for the Rebbe’s birthday each year.
The Governor further made mention of Chanukah and the Lubavitch movement.
Press and media brought the World’s Largest Menorah to the homes of billions of people throughout the world in an unprecedented form of Pirsumei Nisso.
