I commend Chief Powers for having the proverbial “guts” to even consider mentioning the dreaded word that strikes fear and terror into the hearts of all NY liberal politicians, “ARMED”. And to actually suggest for once a practical and intelligent countermeasure and deterrent against the terrorist scourge. The article says “Chief Powers challenged the audience: “What are you doing to protect your schools from this threat?” He stressed about the importance of prevention and the need “to take a soft target and turn it into a hard target”, by securing entrances and exits with professionally trained armed guards in every school. ” I hope this is actually possible under NYC gun laws, and that every school will implement it.
