This Past Shabbos, Fathers joined their sons for an uplifting shabbos at the Mesivta of Yeshiva Schools of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Fathers and sons united in learning and farbrening throughout shabbos. The fathers where impressed by the enthusiasm of the bochurim, and the amount that they’ve grown in their short time away in yeshiva.
A new state of the art dormitory for out of town bochurim was dedicated on Friday, and the fathers where impressed to see the spacious living space, complete with a lounge, game room, and sink in every bed room.
The dorm houses the out of town Bochurim who come from all over the world to learn in Pittsburgh.
Spearheaded by Shlomo Jacobs, the dorm includes amenities specially designed for the bochurim’s comfort and convenience including sinks in every room a comfortable first floor living area and a game room and exercise equipment in the basement.
It also includes up-to-date safety requirements including fire and sprinkler systems. In previous years the students from out of town would board at local families. They now will have a home of their own.
“My son is lucky to have everything I wanted when I was in Yeshiva,” remarked one father.
The program included a and son basketball game, farbengens and shiurim, and an entertaining melaveh malkah complete with music and dancing.
