The newly-established Chabad center of Columbia, Missouri, hosted a Chanukah party on December 25th.
Sluchim Rabbi Avraham and Chana Lapine moved to the community about six weeks ago, and the holiday party, one of their first events, was attended by around 40 people who came from surrounding areas – some from locations as far as two hours away.
The program consisted of arts and crafts for the children, pressing olive oil,
lighting of the giant menorah, and lots of good food.
The celebration was held at the new Chabad House which is located centrally in Columbia, and right across the street from the University of Missouri campus. Columbia is located in the middle of the state, between St. Louis and Kansas City.
