Manhattan is a 22.82-mile land area, home to 1.629 million people. So one would think that the term “hidden gem” is almost impossible to find; with that many people in such a small space of land, how can anything remain hidden. Well, on a recent evening, one of its hidden gems came to life.
The Chelsea Hall NYC is housed in the 150-year-old Emunas Yisroel Shul on West 23rd Street in Lower Manhattan. Over the last year or so, Rabbi Chezky Wolff, the Shul’s Rabbi, has received calls to use the shul’s space to host social events such as Bar and Bas Mitzvahs. Realizing the need for a kosher event hall in NYC, Rabbi Wolff was eager to make this a reality, but getting the word out to the public was going to be tricky.
After brainstorming with Event Creator and Producer Esty Rapoport, The Vendor Viewing and Venue launch Party was created. Vendors from food to custom gifting were invited to participate in the event. “The week of the event, I had so many requests from vendors to join, but we couldn’t overcrowd the room. We assured them that while this was our first event, it surely will not be the last. I was asked if we have a date for our next event already,” Esty said.
The guests that evening were not disappointed. From party planners to parents of Bar and Bat Mitzvah-age children, the inquiries for both the hall and the vendors began to flow.
“People were so excited to have a Kosher venue of this size in the city that could serve their needs, and the vendors were thrilled to be introduced to a new demographic,” he said.
The Chelsea Hall NYC boasts a 3,400 square ft. social hall that can accommodate up to 250 people seated, and 400 people cocktail style. The venue also includes a 1,400-square-foot reception room which can be utilized for multiple purposes.
“The event was a true success. We can’t wait to work with our clients and the incredible vendors and beyond,” Rabbi Wolff said.
The hall is now running a promotion for bookings through July 1st. To enquire, visit the Instagram page @chelseahallnyc, or website www.chelseahall.nyc.
The events vendors were from all over the tri-state area, and are available for travel and delivery.
