Celebrating the end of Sefira, a concert recently took place in the Puppets Jazz Bar in Brooklyn, featuring the Kabbalah Dream Orchestra of Tzfat and the Merkavah Band of Crown Heights.
The concert drew people from all over New York, for an amazing jazz evening.
Kabbalah Dream Orchestra’s singer/songwriter Shalom Pasternak collaborates with Israeli guitar legend Asaf Zohar. Weaving their melodies over one of the most seasoned rhythm sections in the region– Ayal Peled, Asaf Oren (bass/drums)– they are bringing audiences to a sobering, Divine destination.
Led by electric guitar virtuoso, Yerachmiel Altizio, Merkavah (a mystical kabbalistic chariot) is a blend of Jam Band improvisation and melodies from the Lubavitch Chabad movement. This musical experience marries the frenetic energy of a rock concert with the joyous fervor of Hasidic expression.
