For many aspiring entrepreneurs and business startups, the minutiae of details and challenges navigating the complex world of finance, bureaucracy and best practice, can be a daunting task. Speaking to the right person is often the difference between a successful launch and one fraught with difficulty.
In its ongoing effort ensure the entrepreneurial excellence of our community members, Crown Heights Young Entrepreneurs (CHYE) is proud to announce a new service for members of the Crown Heights community.
In the coming days, Mr. Yehuda Berg, director of financial services for the Council of Jewish Organizations of Flatbush, will become CHYE’s in-house business advisor. Members of CHYE will be able to consult with Berg on a variety of different services.
These services include: help registering a business, choosing a business structure, identifying grant and loan opportunities, obtaining business licenses and plethora of other services critical to new or emerging business. Berg will also bring with him contacts in the banking, legal and professional worlds.
According to Berg, he’d “like to help young entrepreneurs – people just coming out of school or starting off on their dreams – turn their business idea into a reality.”
Rabbi Yehoshua Werde, director of CHYE, sees Berg’s presence as bringing “a whole new level of programming that we’re able to give to the community.”

CHYE is happy to help people of any age
Yehuda helped me start my business a few years ago. He got me a business loan and helped me file for my patent.
I’ve noticed that there’s an emphasis on almost all projects, lectures, even shiurim these days to only invite people who are considered ‘young’. Especially in Crown Heights. Many people are ready to start their own businesses when in their thirties or forties or older. Some people- those who don’t rely on their parents to support them- only have enough capital to leave their day job and take a chance on their dream when they are a little older. Let’s not put an age limit on every initiative here in Crown Heights.
What a fantastic idea. I’ve dealt with Mr. Berg, and his experience and professionalism are second to none. Hatzlacha!
The service is free of charge.
