Rabbi Avrahom Berns, a former librarian in the Agudas Chassidei Chabad Library in Brooklyn, was brought down to the Montreal community in honor of Hei Teves.
Rabbi Berns spoke for Nshei Chabad, the girls seminary and the cheder. He was then invited to the Beis Medrash Zal where his presentation culminated with a Farbrengen that went on to the early hours of the morning.
He conveyed the message that the seforim are much more than paper and ink. an that the Rebbe’s library “represents who we are as Lubavitchers, our heritage from all the Rabbeim collectively.”
Berns brought the message home by showing, among other things, hand-written manuscripts, a fifth edition Tanya, and a Siddur that was printed in Berditchev in the time of the Mitteleh Rebbe.
Rabbi Berns’ enthusiasm and passion were infectious, leaving a memorable impression on all those who were there.
