On Sunday morning, Vov Teves, the students of Cheder Ohr Menachem were greeted with a surprise.
In honor of Hey Teves, Rabbi Sholom Ber Schapiro graciously sponsored and presented the talmidim with a special Sefer, “From Day to Day”, – An encyclopedia for the young scholar- which the Rebbe was personally involved in its preparation together with Rabbi Schapiro’s father-in-law Rabbi Nissan Mindel.
The Sefer was printed in English by Kehos for children, under the auspices of the Friediker Rebbe. In the recent years, Rabbi Mindel’s son-in-law, Rabbi Sholom Ber Schapiro translated the sefer to Hebrew and republished it.
The principal Rabbi Menachem Mendel Yusewitz started off the day by explaining to the talmidim the importance of this unique Sefer, with a tremendous amount of Yedios Kloliyos handpicked by our Rebbe.
The Melamdim received books as well, and will be incorporating parts in their Yedios Kloliyos.
Rabbi Zalman Goldstien thanked Rabbi Schapiro for his efforts. “As this Yom tov comes to a close, it was a most proper time for the talmidim to receive this sefer,” he said.
The Talmidim happily went to their classrooms starting this special day with renewed enthusiasm, inspired with the powerful impression from this auspicious day, while broadening their Mikdash Me’at library.
Later on in the day, the boys had the opportunity to use their Chanukah Gelt at our very own book fair at discounted prices. The boys began the new ‘Post Hey Teves week’ on a high note, with a strong commitment to learn in them and use them for years to come.
My son is so excited that he received this Sefer! He kept it next to his pillow last night!
Cheder Ohr Menachem has the best chinuch around!!
Thank you R Yusevitz and all the unsung “rebbi’s” who tirelessly carry on chinuch al taharas hakodesh!
What a wonderful treasure we have been given – a ha’yom yom written by the Rebbe, especially for children! In the foreword of both years – 1943 and 1944 – the Rebbe himself writes a clear and meaningful message for the child. It is simple enough for the child to understand yet with a depth of chassiuds. Wow!
I look forward to learning this From Day to Day with my children daily,.
May you go maychayil el chayil! We love you!
Thank you both Rabbi Schapiro and Rabbi Yusevitz for this thoughtful and purposeful gesture. This has gone hand in hand with the message my son has inculcated in cheer. He is so excited!
Keep up the great work! We are so proud you!
yasher koach rabbi schapiro! hatzlacha rabbah u’muflaga in your holy work!
Thank you, Rabbi Schapiro
Beautiful gesture! May the Talmidim continue learning and following in the Rebbes ways!
