Chabad Terror Victims Project (CTVP.ORG) recently visited Tel Hashomer Hospital to take part in a Pre-Rosh Hashanah party for wounded soldiers and others in the hospital who are ill.
Over 200 people attended with their goal being to bring support and good wishes to these soldiers who are true heroes of Israel and the Jewish People. They are heroes who put their lives on the line for each and every one of us. They protect and safeguard our precious Jewish homeland.
Rabbi Aharon Prus of CTVP explained the significance of Rosh Hashanah and offered blessings to all the participants. He then explained the Rebbe’s thoughts about this holiday, especially in a year like this one in which we have two days of Rosh Hashanah followed by Shabbat creating what we can call a ‘Chazakah” of holiness. (The word Chazakah refers to a permanence that is established when an event repeats itself three times.)
Everyone was given a lovely package with a beautiful card and a container of honey.
The packages were packed earlier in the day by a very special young man, Yosef Roizen from Buenos Aries, Argentina.
Yosef and his family were in Israel to celebrate his Bar Mitzvah and they wanted to do something special to bring the sweetness of the holiday to wounded soldiers. They wanted to demonstrate to them how very much the Jewish world everywhere recognizes and appreciates their sacrifices on our behalf. It was a mitzvah that touched the hearts of everyone at the hospital.
