80 teachers from Crown Heights boys schools received Friday a generous supply of produce ahead of Pesach for their families.
Some 800 cases of fruits and vegetables were given free to educators from Oholei Torah, Lubavitch Yeshiva, Chovevei Torah and also from the Cheder at the Ohel in Queens.
“We were told that it will be sold to us for cost price,” one teacher told COLlive.com. “And we were pleasantly suprised to learn that it was all donated and no money was asked from us.”
He said Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch, was responsible for the kind gesture “showing appreciation to our deserving melamdim.”
He raised the funds from a few donors, including a wealthy member of the Crown Heights community. $25,000 worth of produce was given out.
Shaya Gordon and Shloimi Klein of Mr. Greens acquired the merchandice at market value in the Bronx and provided their truck to deliver the goods (thanks to Yossel Strasberg who donated his time).
Grade 4 of Oholei Torah helped unload a shipment of meat, chicken and wine which was offered at wholesale prices thanks to various local individuals.

There is a failure among certain lubavitchers to appreciate that in the chinuch of our own children we also need to innovate and introduce alternative programmes for those children that the mainstream does not work for.
And due to their insolence.. ..
get hendel to sponsor
What about the other hard working melamdim from Cheder Menachem, Ohr Menachem etc. who would like to feel appreciated for their hard work too? I think this should be offered to all the schools…They all get the same small salaries…(that’s if they get it…) and should deserve a bonus of food for Pesach too…Maybe next year whoever is in charge of arranging this should think about their fellow Rebbes who work as hard teaching in smaller schools….That would be real ahavas Yisroel!
thank you to all the hard work you put in for the shluchim and i thank you for the work you do in crown heights
Aryeh Leib keep up the good work
thats very mean
lol
there should be no “selections” on to which Mosdos should get.
all Melamdim in the neighborhood should receive.
Now everybody knows what we know, That your the best!!!
Favorite Niece and Nephew on Crown Street
Looks more or less what our house looks like before Pesach!! 😉 Here though there’s a little more stuff!
As the wife of a melamed, I can tell you that this whole project is really a beautiful thing, so many times, melamdim feel unappreciated. Thank you to all those who put so much time and effort into this, and also to rabbi futerfas, who arranges this every year. Its a huge undertaking, and we appreciate it very much!!!!
to reb moshe for strenthing the shchuna
Great job thats the best thing you can do , thank you!!!!
its very nice to see that merkas is doin thear mission
Its nice to see that there not not showering them with cake but rather with something healthy
G-d bless all those who made this possible. What greater mitzvah can there be than feeding those who “feed” (biruchaniyus) our kinderlach all year long.
why not give to ALL the Melamdim (teachers) from All Yeshivos in the community?
they gave it free to educators from Oholei Torah, Lubavitch Yeshiva, Chovevei Torah and also from the Cheder at the Ohel in Queens.
what about the other Mosdos in Crown heights?
what about Yeshiva Ohr Menachem?
well yes, if you were to build something it would be a building because it was built, no matter what it was built from.
now let’s see how many people tell me to stop being mean and how many can take a bad joke??????????
YOU CAN BUILD A BUILDING WHITH SO MANY CARROTS!
