The world’s first printed edition of the Talmud is now on view at Sotheby’s in New York and may fetch at least $40 million. The Bomberg Talmud -- named after its Christian publisher, Daniel Bomberg -- was printed in Hebrew and Aramaic in Venice between 1519 and 1523. Full Story

TO uhhh.
Daniel Bomberg did not write it, he published the Talmud in his printing press and it was done under the auspices of the greatest Rabbis of the day. Many holy Rabbis during that time praised him for taking on such a difficult project, as the Talmud had no layout or visual structure beforehand.
