Friendship Circle’s Ferber Kaufman Lifetown in West Bloomfield, MI, was one of the highlights of a recent tour taken by Congressmen Gary Peters and Mark Schauer .
“They were very impressed with our facilities and the number of people that we serve,” said Executive Director Rabbi Levi Shemtov.
Shemtov said that Congressman Peters pledged to represent Friendship Circle in Washington to obtain Federal funding so the organization can continue providing its valuable programs and services.
State Senator Gilda Jacobs accompanied the newly elected legislators as they met with leadership from Friendship Circle and other local Jewish communal agencies that provide services to at-risk populations, including Jewish Apartments & Services (JAS), JARC, Jewish Family Service (JFS), Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) and Kadima.
