In preparation for the Yomim Tovim, the Online Smicha family of students in recent weeks participated in several guest lectures with a variety of prominent Rabbonim.
Rabbi Moshe Feller, Director of Upper Midwest Merkos Chabad-Lubavitch and Head Shliach of Minnesota, discussed factors related to teshuva (repentance)–especially relevant during the period of aseres y’mei t’shuva from Rosh Hashana to Yom Kippur.
Rabbi Moshe Bogomilsky of Vaad Rabbonei Lubavitch and author of the “Vedibarta Bam” series, discussed and fielded halachic questions related to refuah on Yom Kippur.
Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Keller, an author of many sefarim, also led a shiur on “What to look for when choosing an Esrog.”
Rabbi Asher Zeilengold, Rav of Congregation Adath Israel and Senior Administrator of United Mehadrin Kosher, discussed the Laws of Sukkos and interesting events that took place on Sukkos with the Rebbe.
Rabbi Nachman Wilhelm, Dean of Online Smicha program and author of seforim on halachic subjects, discussed “What to do with the arba minim, sukkah and schach after yom tov.”
Dozens of past and present students and guests watched and participated in the interactive shiurim from various places around the world. Many posed interesting halachic questions to the Rabbonim in advance of and live during the lectures.
A first of its kind, pioneering approach to the study of halacha, Online Smicha enables students to login to a unified “beis medrash” or “live classroom” from anywhere in the world, 2-3 times per week for interactive professionally prepared shiurim complete with colored coded charts and more.
In addition to regular outstanding shiurim and presentations given by Rabbi Wilhelm, Dean of the program, Online Smicha regularly provides its students with special guest shiurim and online learning opportunities from well-known poskim and Torah personalities.
Masmischim for the Online Smicha program include Rabbi Dovid Schochet, President of the Toronto Rabbinical Council, and a member of Vaad Rabbonei Lubavitch, Rabbi Baroch Lesches Shlit”a, Rosh Yeshiva, Chabad of Monsey, New York and Lubavitcher Av Beis Din, among others
