‘Yaldei’ Benefit at Cool Pony

The Cool Pony record store, cafe and music venue on 733 Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights will be going kosher for one night this week.

Yaldei Shluchei HaRebbe, an organization that supports and assists Shluchim families that have children with special needs, will be holding there a women’s only concert on Monday, June 3.

Musicians Rivka Eilfort and Sara Hecht will be performing some their own compositions, as well as Jewish favorites.

“I’m really excited to be involved with this organization,” Eilfort said. “It means a lot to me to be able to give in such an exciting way to these families. I’m happy that all the proceeds are going straight for tzedaka.”

Yaldei has become an invaluable resource to over 150 Shluchim families worldwide who are raising special children, while balancing their responsibilities with building and leading communities, schools and institutions.

The organization, a division of Merkos Suite 302, offers programming, resources, financial aid and support to Shluchim who are balancing their shlichus and family life.

“I am amazed at these wonderful people helping out the parents of these special needs children and feel honored to be able to help them in this tiny way,” Elifort added.

Tickets are $36 at the door or $30 online at yaldei.com (note “concert” in the donation form).

Doors will open at 7:30 and concert will begin at 8:15. All proceeds will go to Yaldei Shluchei HaRebbe.
