Hatomim Yaacov Shlomo Matisyahu Ben Yosef Getzel Pellin, a 31 year-old, has passed away in Jerusalem on Friday, 15 Av 5772.
“He was brilliant and very kind,” recalled a family friend about Pellin who has not been well for many years. “He cared for chessed and emes.”
He lived in Crown Heights and moved to Israel in recent years.
The levaya took place on Friday afternoon at Har Menuchos Cemetery in Jerusalem.
He is survived by his mother Chaya Pellin of Crown Heights, and siblings – the entertainer and producer Mendy Pellin of Sherman Oaks, CA and Levi Pellin of Crown Heights.
The family will be sitting Shiva at 18 Nahr Pros APT 4 Nachlaot, Jerusalem.

I was very saddened to hear about the passing of Yakov ob”m. I went to Yeshiva with him and we were friends. He was a very loving and inspiring person. I wish the family much comfort and may Moshiach come right now and we will all be reunited.
