N’shei Chabad of Los Angeles has launched ‘Operation Shabbat Dome’, a campaign to encourage Jewish women and girls to light Shabbos candles in the merit of the safety of Israel.
Please Email, Text, Facebook, WhatsApp, Tweet, print out copies, add two tea lights put them in a bag and distribute to all Jewish women and girls before Shabbos.
Even if the Rebbe didn’t say to light earlier – what’s wrong with encouraging it? Many start taking showers or putting on make-up at licht benching time because there is still 18 minutes to sun set… There is a reason why candle lighting time is 18 minutes before sunset – in order not to miss the exact time of sun set and be mechalel Shabbos chas vesholom! The Rebbe said Shabbos candles, Ner Shabbos Kodesh, are OUR ammunition. Our soldiers have their neshek and we have ours! May the light of our ammunitioin bring the geula now!
