Junior Nshei of Crown Heights recently presented a two-part shiur on the practical halachos of Shabbos, featuring the knowledge and expertise of Rabbi Shmuel Bluming.
At least 75 women attended the shiurim addressing questions such as the conditions for opening packages and bottles, taking medication on Shabbos, and receiving mail and packages on Shabbos.
The women also learned numerous applications of halacha in the kitchen, covering the proper way to peel fruits and vegetables, warming up foods and examples of borer in the kitchen.
The event, which was dedicated in memory of Rabbi Zirkind obm and Yakov ben Shimon, was graciously hosted by the Gutnick family.
Wall pushkas for the kitchen were distributed, and CD recordings of past events were made available for those who were unable to attend.
The atmosphere was lively, at times even humorous as the audience participated in learning and clarifying many vital aspects of shmiras shabbas k’halacha. It was truly wonderful that so many women made it a priority to attend the shiur and stay despite the late hour. May the merit of the learning be an aliyah for the neshama of Rabbi Zirkind and bring brachos for all the participants.
Junior N’shei would like to thank Rabbi Shmuel Bluming for generously sharing his time, the Gutnick family for their exemplary hospitality and all those who attended.
If you missed this event, or past events, CD recordings will be available for sale at the final Junior N’shei event of this year, date to be announced.
