In celebration of 30 years of dedicated Shlichus, Chabad of Wimbledon is building a new Chabad center in the heart of Wimbledon, South London.
After many years of renting a small space as a Shul, plus a hall for larger events, this is a very exciting initiative for Rabbi and Mrs. Dubov and the entire community – to finally have their own, permanent, spacious and beautiful, purpose-built center!
With five Shluchim families in the South London area, the new center will serve as the regional headquarters; housing a shul, children’s center, hall, kosher shop, state of the art mikvah, guest rooms and offices.
In addition to the wide range of communal services in South London, these offices are the helm of all Wimbledon’s innovative programming and activities, including CGI UK overnight summer camps, 14 book publications (JLI Art of Marriage, Inward Bound, Judaism Key Facts/FAQS, Laws of Bishul, Yichud, Yalkut Bar Mitzvah, Mazal Tov Chabad Wedding Guide and many more), and a dynamic online presence on Chabad.org.
Today marks four months into the construction of Wimbledon’s new center, which has reached a total cost of $800,000.
Today, Wimbledon is launching a 48-hour, quadruple match campaign to raise £180,000 to enable this dream to come true.
