Who Wants to be a Chassidishaire

At Yeshivas Lubavitch Cincinnati, the Shluchim are always looking for original ways to motivate the Bochurim to grow in all areas of Yiddishkeit and Chassidishkeit.

After several successful Mivtzahs throughout the year focusing on Limud HaTorah, Chassidishe Hanhogos, Shmiras Hasdorim and more, the Shluchim launched a grand General Chassidshe Knowledge Mivtzah.

During the Mivtzah, titled “Who Wants to be a Chassidishaire,” the Bochurim learned hundreds of questions and answers from a Kovetz prepared specially for the Mivtzah, in two categories of “Basics” and “Advanced” on all sorts of Chassidishe topics ranging from when the Rebbeim were born all the way to the dates of famous Sichos.

Early in the morning, late in the evening, and all throughout the day Bochurim could be seen studying and memorizing the Kovetz, bringing a unique uplifting atmosphere where the day-to-day conversation has become “when was Tomchei Tmimim founded?” and the like.

The height of the Mivtza was a beautiful dinner in the dining hall of Blue Ash Chabad House about 15 minutes from Yeshiva, catered by an out of town chef. All Bochurim who passed 2 tests on the “Basics” were invited, and the 8 top Bochurim of the MIvtzah got to play the “Who Wants to be Chassidishaire” game featuring 15 questions from the “Advanced” section with a chance to win up to $200 cash each!

During the evening Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Gershon Avtzon spoke about the importance of knowing the personal details and information of the Rebbeim and Chassidus, and how that expresses the real connection of a Chossid to his Rebbe. At the end of the event the Bochurim sat for a heartwarming kumzitz led by the Shluchim Mendy Kraus and Yossi Rodal.

The top 8 Bochurim who excelled in the Mivtza and played the game are: Tzali Dubov, Ari Holtzman, Menachem Holtzman, Yanky Kanevsky, Mendy Melamed, Berel Myhill, Mendel Schmukler, and Zali Shifrin.
