As the Palestianians try to declare statehood in the United Nations this week, Arab hackers are bringing the battle to the web.
Haredi social website FaceGlatt, which is based in Kfar Chabad, was hacked this past week, and now the website of the largest Chabad camp in the U.S. was targeted.
CampGanIsrael.com, the website of the overnight Camp Gan Israel in Parksville, NY, was breached Tuesday and covered in black and a creepy photo of a person.
“Hacked by METO and Dr. Saad,” read the message in white and red.
The words in Arabic, translated by Google, read: “Courtesy breach to: Commander-Ala’m Haifa, Shukri Hecr.”
Hershy Chitrik, a New York businessman who volunteers as the technical manager of the camp, was told by COLlive.com about the hacking.
“It is a despicable act and we need to find out what it says to determine whether this is a hate crime,” he told us.
He added that he doubts the virtual attack was against the camp “personally.”
“I guess it’s because we have ‘Israel’ in our name.”
get some pc bochrim on the case I don’t see the big deal
I think CGI Montreal is the largest
They dont scare me one bit these pansies if they were real men they would set up to the plate.I dont understand why its taking so long to unhack the website.
They should find out who it is asap!! May Hashem keep us all safe!!
i think it’s pretty scary and creepy
Hashem yishmor
These are called ‘script kiddies’ and they are the lowest and easiest to beat form of hackers. Hosting is usually at fault when this happens.
Most of these attacks come from Turkey and not the Arab world.
It’s interesting, though, that they’re only hacking Chabad sites…
I hope they contact the FBI, hacking is a crime.
