The UK’s two leading Jewish newspapers published articles on the Rebbe this past weekend, bringing the Rebbe’s message and legacy to tens of thousands of Jews.
The Jewish Chronicle published a full page article written by Rabbi Yitzchak Schochet, a Chabad Shliach and rabbi of the Mill Hill Synagogue in London, and titled “Why Lubavitch believe it’s a beautiful world.”
He wrote the Rebbe was “undeniably the one individual more than any other who has been responsible for stirring the conscience and spiritual awakening of the Jewish people in the post-Holocaust era. That continues to be his legacy and enduring impact on our world today.”
The Jewish News published Schochet’s popular weekly Ask the Rabbi, arguably the most widely read Jewish column in London, which he dedicated to the Rebbe and offered the Rebbe’s responses to three critical questions.
Both articles were said to have received very positive feedback across the Jewish spectrum as many attend local gatherings marking the 20th Gimmel Tammuz and take upon themselves another Mitzvah in honor of the Rebbe.

Rabbi Yitzchak Shochet shares a story of a little boy crying for the Rebbe’s blessing, and finds that little boy in Barcelona, Berlin, and down the road from each of us. How far are we willing to extend ourselves to staunch the tears of the little boy? To answer, we must first know that his soul is crying out for connection, that he is searching for direction — that is why G-d has brought him our way.
