Chabad of the Valley recently marked a monumental occasion at its “Celebration of Leadership” Gala Banquet event spearheaded by long standing pillars of the Los Angeles community Gary and Rochelle Finder to honor Rabbi and Rebbetzin Yehoshua Binyomin and Deborah Gordon for thirty-eight years of service as emissaries of the Lubavitcher Rebbe to the S. Fernando Valley in California.
The nearly 500 guests were welcomed by emcee Rabbi Mordechai Einbinder, Associate Director of Chabad of the Valley. The evening celebration was hailed as “one of the most powerful, poignant and inspiring banquet celebrations in Chabad of the Valley’s 38-year history.”
The event took place at Chabad of the Valley’s 22,000 sq foot Headquarters in Tarzana, California. Highlights of the celebration included: the exhilaratingly uplifting music of the “dueling violinists”; a captivating video tribute presented by colleagues and friends; very kind and eloquent words offered by the Banquet Chairpersons, Gary and Rochelle Finder and a powerful and compelling keynote address by one of America’s most respected radio talk show hosts and friend of the Gordon’s, Mr. Dennis Prager.
Banquet Chairman and philanthropist Gary Finder astonished participants at the Banquet Gala, with his surprise announcement of a magnanimous dedication and the establishment of the new Finder Family Chabad Leadership Institute.
In 1973, Chabad of the Valley was among the last few of 71 new Chabad institutions established across the globe as a special gift to the Lubavitcher Rebbe in honor of his 70th birthday. Today Chabad of the Valley has changed the Jewish landscape of Los Angeles, with 25 centers and 34 emissaries under its auspices impacting the daily lives of countless individuals and families throughout the greater Valley area.
Rabbi Gordon is the best!!
Mazel Tov to JB and Debbie and kudos to you for all your massive work over the years – looks like a beautiful dinner – and a huge yasher koach on having separate seating at a Lubavitch affair! We should see more Chabad Houses doing this!
A big Yeshar Koach for all the great work Rabbi Gordon does and Hashem should bless him in all ways to keep it going.
What a beautiful event and well deserved.
May the Gordons go from Strength to Strength.
