Chabad of the Valley marked its 36th anniversary with a gala Hakhel banquet Monday, June 8th, honoring the Rebbe’s Shluchim worldwide. A special tribute was made to fellow Shluchim, Rabbi Gabi and Rivkah Holtzberg ob’m, brutally slain in the Mumbai Massacre “Al Kiddush Hashem.”
Words of thanks and inspiration were delivered by Rabbi Yehoshua B. Gordon as well as Rabbi Mordechai Einbinder. Robert Cait, one of the evening’s chairpersons and well known comedian and voice-over star also offered words of greeting.
A powerful and inspirational tribute was delivered by the 14 year old angelic Troye Sivan who flew in especially for this event from Australia. Troye is featured in the Hollywood blockbuster X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
He captured the hearts and souls of the nearly 500 people present and there was not a dry eye in the house. Troye’s emotionally charged musical tribute was followed by a moving talk delivered by Rebbetzin Deborah Gordon, whose granddaughter is named for Rivkah Holtzberg, ob’m.
Special thanks to the very talented and gifted production team, a group of devoted and dedicated individuals, who made this amazing event happen.
