The three recently-elected members of the Vaad Hakohol – Crown Heights Jewish Community Council will throw out the first pitch at the Crown Heights Softball League’s first playoff game, COLlive.com has learned.
Chairman Zaki Tamir and members Fishel Brownstein and Yossi Hackner will all be on hand to take part in the start of the playoffs, which will ultimately determine the 2010 league champions.
In the playoff games played at St. John’s Recreational Park in Crown Heights, four teams will compete for a chance to play in the league championship game, held later this month.
The first game, to be held on Tuesday, August 17, the ‘Landmark Funding Red Heifers’ will take on the ‘COLlive Tribe’ at St. John’s Recreational Park, St. John’s and Prospect Place, at 7:20 pm.
“We’re glad to be the venue where achdus is being shown,” Zevi Steinhauser, the league’s commissioner, told COLlive.
Steinhauser invites the community to come out to show support as well. “The game has fun and excitement for the whole family, right here in our neighborhood,” he says.
