The hammock or swing is attached to a string which is tied to the tree – therefore the hammock or swing itself is using “the side of the side” – yet, it is STILL ossur (because it is NOT considered “side of the side”!!).. So why if the string of the hammock or swing has a hook at the end – it suddenly becomes mutter??? What if the string from the hammock / swing is attached to a second string which ties around the tree – is THAT considered the “side of the side”?? Does it matter if the hook… Read more »

Alternately, you can learn that strong and weak refer to the person who is leaning. A healthy, strong person will not really be using the tree for support but an exhausted, weak person should not lean against a tree as that person will undoubtedly lean heavily for support.

Question: Is it enough to be tied to a hook, or does it need to be tied to hook AND not shake tree?
So if a soft cloth with a hook tied to it (so as not to damage the tree trunk in any way )is wrapped around a strong tree it would be permitted?
