Jewish Ukrainians, who until moments before had not known each other – and, some, their own Jewish identity – gathered at the Chabad House in Vinnytsia, Ukraine, led by Shliach Rabbi Shaul Hurwitz. Assisted by bochurim shluchim Rabbi Tzemach Goldberg and Rabbi Mendy Shiff, who are in the city on Merkos Shlichus led by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky.
etween bombings and sirens, they came together to mark the passing of the Rebbe’s father, Reb Levik, with a special video of the Rebbe speaking about his father.
This is especially relevant now to the Jews of Ukraine, as it was about the endurance and courage that R’ Levik had in his fight for Judaism against the Soviet government.
