In preparation for Yud Tes Kislev, N’shei Chabad of Ramat Beit Shemesh held a beautiful Melave Malka/farbrengen on Motzoi Shabbos Parshas Vayishlach at the home of Miriam Marks.
40 women and girls enjoyed a sumptuous 3 course seuda while listening to Mrs. Estie Wilhelm, head Shlucha of Zhitomer, Ukraine.
Speaking on the topic Shluchim under Fire, Mrs. Wilhelm held the attendees spellbound as she recounted her early years in Zhitomer in the 1990’s and how her Shlichus grew.
But it was her experiences of Meseiros Nefesh and clear examples of Yad Hashem and the Rebbe’s support that captivated us. With her harrowing yet at times humorous descriptions, Mrs. Wilhelm spoke of how she and her community, including the children from her orphanage, escaped the war to settle in Ashkelon and how her shlichus continues.
The evening was enhanced by niggunim and we look forward to many more inspiring and enjoyable events in this year of Hakhel.
