Rabbi Eliyahu Bitton, a Lubavitcher Mohel in the southern Israeli city of Beer Sheva, has preformed a bris on countless 8 day-old babies.
But none of them were his own.
Bitton and his wife Chani were married for 8 years without having a child, even after going through medical procedures and receiving blessings from friends.
“My father is a rabbi and mohel in Yavne and asked me to continue the tradition and become a mohel,” Eliyahu Bitton told Arutz 7.
“He said that in that merit I will be able to preform the mitzvah of a father circumcising his child.”
It took a while, but the day finally arrived last week when Chani Bitton gave birth to twin boys.
“We have written to the Rebbe many times throughout these years,” he says. “And we have taken upon ourselves to be extra careful in Taharas Hamishpacha – because you can always be more careful in Mitzvos.”
The couple has been active in reaching out to Jewish teenagers, inviting them for Shabbos meals and Torah classes.
They are involved with the Israeli chapter of the organization Bonei Olam, a Brooklyn based organization that assists Jewish couples that are experiencing infertility.
“Our message to everyone going through what we did is to strengthen themselves in emuna and trust in Hashem. There is nothing beyond His reach.”
We should only be able to hear such BEAUTIFUL NEWS & to all those that are still waiting, may you be parents Iy”h very soon!
With medical intervention it’s more likely they are NOT identical.
They should have lots of nachas.
All as yet childless couples should be blessed.
i know some twins they’re SO not identical. one has dark skin, dark brown eyes, and curly, black hair, and the other one has lighter skin, light-blue eyes with orange-blond hair.
