There have been growing piles of garbage around Crown Heights and across New York City.
Trash collections were reportedly missed on Thursday after Mayor Bill de Blasio issued a vaccine mandate to all 100,000 city workers, which include the sanitation department as well as New York Police Department and New York Fire Department.
Residents have taken to social media in outrage over the accumulating garbage and to raise concern that the slowdown is intentional in protest of the vaccine mandate, the media reported.
Harry Nespoli, president of Teamsters Local 831, the uniformed sanitation worker’s association, said that he’s unaware of an intentional sanitation slowdown or trash pileup. In a statement, the sanitation department said it is “aware that there are collection delays.”
But the results have been clearly seen on the streets since de Blasio announced last week that city workers would be placed on unpaid leave if they don’t get at least one dose of the vaccine by Friday.
The Mayor said that the department of sanitation would not allow missed collections to continue, though neither he nor the sanitation department would say if the slowdown was on purpose, it was reported.
“Anyone who is not doing their job, you’re harming your fellow sanitation workers, and you’re harming your neighbors, and you’re harming your city,” de Blasio said. “And it’s time to stop.”
As of Thursday, 67 percent of New York City sanitation workers had been vaccinated.
“Prepare for the worst and hope for the best,” said Joseph Mannion, president of the Sanitation Officers Association.

For people to pile their garbage in front of his house like they did with the fireworks situation. That will teach him, you cant boss people around. Try bossing your wife first before to start up with people.
The ppl of crown heights should get together and bring all the trash to de bliosio’s house
Let him eat it
Just get vaccinated.
as one firefighter said while getting the shot: “I have a family, mortgage, bills,” etc…
So you’re in favor of people losing their jobs if they don’t accept whatever the government says. Is there a point where you’d draw the line, then? You know, the Nazis and the Soviets and other Communists also tried to force things on people “for their good.”
And just risk heart damage, blood clots, paralysis, immune disorders for an injection that just suppresses symptoms and doesn’t prevent transmission?
How about the government can just back off and let us decide for ourselves what medical decisions are best for ourselves?
I just don’t consent.
YOU are the one that is harming the city and it’s time to 🛑 stop.
Cheap way to put the blame on others
Over 25 fire stations in the city are currently closed as well
the government cannot be allowed to force people to jab themselves
there is no end to this type of behavior
according to this, if they decide we all need to take mind altering drugs we would also need to
or if they decide that no one can wear a yarmulka c”v, we would also need to
and the list goes on…
Mind-altering drugs and Yarmulkas don’t affect public health.
The Supreme Court already established in 1905 (Jacobson v. Massachusetts) that the government has the authority to mandate vaccinations and that individual liberty doesn’t trump public health and safety.
In 1905 did they mandate the vaccine through OSHA as a workplace hazard? The Covid hazard doesn’t start when you enter your workplace or end when you leave. It is a life hazard. How can this be a workplace hazard?
This is exactly why people should vote for Curtis Sliwa on Election Day this upcoming Tuesday. Eric Adams supports De Blasio’s tyrannical vaccine mandate, while Sliwa doesn’t. If you thought the current mayor destroyed our amazing city these last seven years, Adams will only do more damage. This is unfortunately only the beginning. Sliwa also wants to give workers their jobs back who were essentially fired for not wanting the vaccination. He pledges to offer a weekly testing option for those who don’t want the injection. #winwin If you care about your rights, then vote for someone who does too.… Read more »
Doesnt have to do with a vaccine,
it has to do with the goverment that thinks they know better for u, then you do for yourself
I am struggling to have sympathy for people who are complaining about vaccine mandates for themselves who were at best indifferent or at worst supported the repeal of the religious exemption( 2019) to vaccination for NYS children to attend school ! People were warned at the time that they would be next and should support the right to bodily autonomy via the religious exemption! For those who dismissed that message as some “antivaccine ” cause that had no nexus to their family well this is where we are today. Hope you step up to the plate NOW!
Where’s the nearest dump/facility that homeowners can bring it to?
I’m so glad that the workers are standing up for their rights!
The postal workers are exempt and the sanitation workers are not?
This is America!!!! Remember where you came from!!!!!
This Vaccine is no longer about Covid..More people in vaccinated countries are hospitalized with the vacccine, .do your homework…. Now its about control…its about the future of Modern Communism in our country !!!!!!
Moshiach Now!!!!!!
When jews didn’t feel the ambulance system was fast enough, they created hatzala. If the government can’t take care if the trash then we will need to find others who will do the job
Terrible terrible De blasio. for the first time ever in my life we had a rat come into our home. It was awful. Cant wait for this mamzer to go. He destroyed the city. Now he wants to run for governor…right. Run back to park slope and stay there. Disgusting what he is doing and the democratic republic of the united states of communist china, absolutely disgusting.
