On 21 Elul, Yeshivas Lubavitch Toronto held a gala event marking the siyum of a Sefer Torah donated to the Yeshiva by Mrs. Lily Safra in loving memory of her dear husband Edmond J. Safra a”h.
Edmond J. Safra, was one of the 20th century’s most accomplished bankers and a devoted philanthropist who established a major philanthropic foundation to ensure that needy individuals and organizations would continue to receive his assistance and encouragement for many years to come.
The event began with the filling in of the final letters in the sefer torah with the world renowned sofer R’ Mendel Aronov. Following the siyum, exhilarating and electrifying dancing broke out into the streets of Toronto leaving all the participants strengthened and uplifted.
To conclude the event there were inspiring speeches in which one of Toronto’s leading Rabbonim and Av Beis Din, Rabbi Ochs Shlitah honored the crowd with inspirational words.

My best years of yeshiva were in Toronto. I miss the place and can see that it hasn’t changed. I have been to a few yeshivas over the years but Toronto was by far the best. During those Toronto year I felt “connected” to my source!
I dont think anyone out of the yeshiva knew about this, no sign poster or anything to tell of this big mitzvah.
Happy to see that Rabbi Wagner’s keeping the place rocking!!! Rabbi Wagner’s Zal is the best Zal in the world!
And the best part is that even after you leave Zal, Zal never leaves you, anyone who is part of Rabbi Wagner’s alumni looks forward every week for the weekly email\farbrengen\shiur it makes us feel that we are still in Zal!!!!!

This is the second time that Rabbi Ochs came to Yeshiva and left with a good impression about Lubavitch!!! The first time was when he Farhered 15 Bochurim on the whole Maseches Baba Kamma Baal Peh 2 years ago and he was so impressed he even mentioned it in his speech in his Shul the next week!!!!!!!

Rabbi Vechter is the best Mashpia in the world!!!! I went to Toronto for Shiur Gimmel and it was my best year ever!!!!

Toronto Yeshiva is a place to grow to be a chosid, yirei shomayim and lamdan! The hanholah are dugmos in chassidis and lomdus. Even the balei batim of anash are inspirational!
