As part of the Shabbos Tzuzamen Initiative, Toronto’s Chabad Gate community hosted a Shabboton, led by Rabbi Yitzchak Schochet, the Rabbi at Mill Hill United Synagogue of London England.
On Friday night, over 300 men, women, and children gathered in the upstairs Shul and Kiddush room. The tables were elegantly set for the Shabbos Seudah, creating a warm atmosphere for everyone.
A delicious catered meal was served by premier caterers, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food. While adults socialized and said “l’chaim,”. The children had a specially designed camp tailored for the many age groups.
The boy’s division was headed by Rabbi Bard-Wigdor, While Mrs. Neely Antebi headed the girls’ division.
They both dedicated countless hours to ensuring the children were extremely entertained and every detail was well planned. The children enjoyed Food art, magic shows, games, sports, and carefully prepared food packages and gift bags. The children enjoyed every moment of the camp.
Rabbi Schochet captivated the audience with memories and lessons from his father, Rabbi Immanuel Schochet, former Rov to Lubavitch shul to Edinburgh Toronto. He spoke about his father’s deep connection to the Rebbe, sharing many anecdotes and letters exchanged between the Rebbe and his father. Many for the very first time.
Throughout Shabbos day, Rabbi Schochet continued to farbreng, urging everyone to say Lechaim and to constantly embrace and find positivity in every moment.
The event was organized and headed by Yossi and Lilach Reinitz, along with Chanoch and Sarah Nelken and their dedicated team.
Many community members generously contributed to cover the costs, in particular Shalom & Rochel Meyers, Oren & Neely Antebi, and Idan and Lee-ann Cohen.

A really special man!
