It’s a busy day at Cheder Menachem. The school is humming with excitement. Tri-folds, posterboards and props are being carried to the large auditorium, and students are hurrying to and fro.
It’s the annual Torah and Science fair, and at Cheder Menachem, every student is a winner.
The parents and guests arrive to find poised students, proudly sharing and demonstrating topics that they researched independently, answering hard questions and showing mastery. Every project features a Torah connection, with practical applications to daily Avodas Hashem.
There is long waving simulation of sound waves, volcanoes erupting, a tornado in a bottle, and dancing raisins.
“I learned that I need to serve Hashem with Chayus,” said one student. “What I say here can be heard over there. I need to think of the impact of my words before I say something,” shared another.
If you ask the parents, they are absolutely thrilled. Despite the commute to school daily, Mrs. Rosie Weinstein is happy she made the choice. “It’s so impressive to see all the children, every single one in every grade, engaged. It is amazing to see the connections they made to Torah and Yiddishkeit. The children are learning so much with such excitement.”
Cheder Menachem is a small but vibrant school in the heart of New Jersey. Servicing Shluchim and Anash, the school offers a full curriculum in both Jewish and General studies, with a strong foundation on Chassidic and Torah values. The atmosphere is warm, with a strong emphasis on personal growth, empowerment, and Chassidim Ein Mishpacha.
This past week, the Middle School girls celebrated the Rebbetzin’s Adar 1 Birthday with a beautiful brunch. They danced, sang, paying tribute to their mothers, and to the values of the Rebbetzin – ‘leaving a good smell – a good impact on your environment’, living a life of modesty and elegance. They marked this with exquisite flower arrangements, which they bequeathed to their mothers in a touching ceremony.
“What I really like about the Cheder is its family atmosphere,” said Chanale Stock. “I am happy to have spent the last 2 years learning here.”
