Rebbetzin Chaya Mushkah Schneerson (born 1901), wife of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, passed away on the 22nd of Shevat of the year 5748 (1988). An erudite and wise woman, she carried the mantle of her revered and exalted position in a most humble and unpretentious fashion. Full Story

While it is true that the Rebbitzen would avoid publicity, due to Tznius I think that the more we know about her life it will inspire others to follow, and the fact that there are very few picture’s of her, and even those are not “official” just emphasizes and expresses her behavior.

we know that the rebbitzin was a very private person and exemplified tznius. yes, it is very special to find a rare photo of the rebbetzin. but do you think she would have appreciated such broadcasting of herself?
the highest level of respect for the deceased is to follow in their ways – to do what THEY want. i am sure the rebbetzin would not want such a thing for herself.
