A Crown Heights resident that lives on Rutland Road near the planned ‘Mega Shelter 681 Clarkson Ave’ spoke with COLlive and said, that Lubavitchers that live in South Crown Heights and East Flatbush in addition to attending this Zoom Public Hearing. Should tell all their non Jewish friends and neighbors about this public hearing event to speak up as well.

At 7pm during this Zoom. November 30th. There is a Zoom meeting by Brooklyn Community Board 9 for the yearly 2024 FY25 Budget Request Public Hearing. Although all the 9 Lubavitchers in Community Board 9 should be on this important homeless shelter meeting. Maybe 1 of the Lubavitchers can be on the FY25 financial budget meeting for this district to at best make sure the financial/budget for our district in 2024 is to benefit us, or at worst to make sure they are not spending the budget by Community Board 9 district on more woke things that will hurt our… Read more »

Welcome to communism
Showing up does nothing other than identify yourself
You will own nothing and be happy
Everybody is equal but some are more equal than others
Do you know where you get free healthcare, education, housing and food? Prison
They are going to do it regardless. If they already placed multiple shelters right here in our community, several migrant centers, took away a great deal of our parking spaces with unwanted bikes.. and if they continually allow crimes to go unpunished, without the slightest regard for anything the resident taxpayers have expressed, do you honestly think they are going to suddenly change their minds now?
What else can we do to actually stop this?
We need to organize offline somehow
Our elites won’t stop until we are crushed and homeless on the streets ourselves! While our tax dollars are being pocketed or spent on enabling the illegals and criminals
Another war? 😥
Taxation without representation is theft
Someone should screen record this Zoom meeting, and have the Replay posted afterwards on ColLive for those that are unable to watch it live.
Also it’s good to have it recorded for proof of the input and comments that residents make, incase the homeless shelter provider try’s to deny these concerns at a later date.
They are literally dumping criminals in the neighborhood. The shelter land should be a big park for all East Flatbush residents.
Or new houses to be sold for 500,000?
Even the senior housing part for 681 Clarkson Ave (the one part which is supposedly not for homeless), has a minimum of 30% of the 337 senior units is reserved for the senior homeless age 55 and up. (And it can be much more than 30%, something like a last minute we didn’t “realize” 100% for senior homeless, this tactic was pulled on other buildings turned homeless shelters in East Flatbush) It’s on the publicly available legal documents submitted to Community Board 9. They want to put young 55 year old criminals coming out of rikers island with felonies. And… Read more »
How can someone request to speak and share a concern during this Zoom.
Do you need to request beforehand or can you request during the actual zoom meeting?
Housed all the bochurim here and have the county pay for it
