Crown Heights’ main thoroughfare Kingston Avenue will be closed off Thursday morning for repaving work in the neighborhood.
The New York City Department of Transportation informed Yaacov Behrman, Public Safety Chair for Community Board 9, that the repaving of Kingston Avenue from Eastern Parkway to Empire Blvd will take place Thursday, April 28, between 6:30AM and 3PM.
Kingston Avenue will be closed beginning 6:30 AM. Towing will begin early morning.
Cross streets will be closed as needed, when work is being done on those intersections, they said.
What’s the rush? Another month or 2 no big deal.. damage has anyways been done to the cars driving the avenue..
Anyone has any idea why it took so long to repave? Seems like was done on purpose..
Where’s the local askanim?
This would not take so long in Boro park or Williamsburg..
Your so right! A busha!!! They should be sued.. and where are all the local politicians.. no photo ops so no need to get involved!?!?
What is the logic behind choosing Kingston to be repaved? It was in relatively good shape.. Anyone knows?
Yes I agree with you, that’s it’s totally insane the crazy delay in them repaving Kingston Ave.
Of course we don’t know the DOT schedule, but it would’ve made much more sense for them to do the repaving, over Pesach, the Passover holiday which they practically had approx 10 days, that the streets were much quieter to traffic.
If u did receive Damage to ur car, u can file a claim with NYC.

Do you reckon Kingston was actually quieter over the 8 days of Pesach?
Most crown heightsers leave for pesach. It was very quiet here.
Don’t forget the dozens of people that fell on the street during this fiasco.
Seems Jewish Crown Heights is the bottom of the totem pole based on the way the City operates here.
