As every year, Chabad of Tzfas, led by Shliach Rabbi Chaim Kaplan, arranged for a large hospitality operation for those visiting the gravesite of the holy Arizal on his Yartzeit.
Over 10,000 meals were served in luxurious tents to mark the Yartzeit. A huge video screen projected videos of the Rebbe, speaking about the great significance of the day and the importance of studying pnimiyus HaTorah. Fascinating lessons in the Torah of the Arizal were given by Rosh Kollel Rabbi Asi Spiegel and the famous lecturer Rabbi Menachem Mintzberg, and hundreds of books on Chassidus were sold at subsidized prices.
This year, to mark the 450th anniversary of Hilula, the day also included an elegant and special Torah completion ceremony.
Exactly one year ago, the writing of the Torah was begun on the Yartzeit, and during the year the Torah was written.
On the night of the Hilula, in the presence of a large crowd, the last letters of the Torah were written, in honor of the Arizal and in honor of Chaim Zvi ben Shulamit.
A special memento was distributed to the thousands of participants regarding the necessity of studying the inner aspects of the Torah in our generation, as the Arizal says, “It is precisely in these last generations that it is permitted and commanded to uncover this wisdom.”
