The chabad minhag is to increase in ahavas Yisroel during sefirah and look at the good people are doing.

It’s a holy jewish minhag just like saying yotzros or Akdamus on shavuos or not saying tachanun on a rebbe’s yahrzeit. Just not what we do

B”H although its not minhag chabad, it should be pointed out that a) anyone on Shelichus knows that this is a great way to get women to bake chalah, and thus by extension to start keeping shabbos. In fact, many sheluchos do a challah bake this week for this very reason. b) now sure where you get that the origin is not Jewish, when in fact its brought down by many great Tzadikim, among them the Ohev Yisrael, that its a Minhag Yisrael Where the origin of that origin is not relevant, as anyone who knows many of Minhagei Yisrael… Read more »

It is true with sources in holy places such as the apter rav just not Chabad.
