A Jewish man was chased and physically grabbed during an attempted robbery late Wednesday night in Crown Heights.
The incident took place near Crown Street and Schenectady Ave around 12:30 AM. The victim was walking home when he noticed a group of three teens, wearing face coverings, following closely behind him. When he stepped aside to let them pass, they immediately surrounded and grabbed him.
The victim managed to break free and tried to escape but the group continued to pursue him, demanding he empty his pockets, hand over his wallet and money, and shoving him as he fled. They chased him for nearly two blocks, repeatedly attempting to assault him before eventually giving up.
Minutes later, the group began to target a second victim near Montgomery St and Schenectady Ave. However, a marked Shmira patrol car happened to pass by, causing the teens to abandon their attempt and hide on a nearby private property.
Shortly after, the first victim called Shmira to report the incident. Shmira returned to the area to search for the suspects and notified the NYPD. A police report was filed, and Shmira obtained security footage of the incident.
This was the third reported incident in the area involving a group of teens wearing face coverings who confront and assault victims. The first incident occurred on November 6, during which the victim was beaten with a cane, resulting in injuries. The second incident, on November 10, involved a victim who was chased and beaten, also sustaining injuries.
With this pattern happening in our neighborhood, please stay vigilant, be aware of your surroundings, and report any suspicious activity.

Which 2 blocks direction did they go?? There are many Lubavitchers that have video cameras on their homes and can check for clear video footage, if we know which streets the suspects past thru.

Unfortunately about half of the crime in Crown Heights is traced back to “program” criminal tenants residing in 1 of the 25 center CH buildings that a Lubavitch 5 Towns landlord owns.
The city overpays (with your tax dollars) to rent to “program” gang members.

Landlords should take in tenants who are safe for the community rather than only wanting govt money to take in undesireables!

True, landlords should not be renting to people with criminal records, as most of these perpetrators have, even the very young ones. Every block should be paying a certain amount per month to have a security guard on the block 24 seven. Every block security guard should be in communication with each other.
