With all the wonderful Chassidic explanations about the reasons for a Lechaim- this needs to be SERIOUSLY considered. Many of our youth have been drinking because of the benefits of a Lechaim! We face a serious drinking problem amongst Lubavich young ones – with a concern for addiction and long term health problems arising from drinking. My father, being a wonderful Lubavich Russian Chosid – past away r’l from liver cancer which was inoperable because of perosis of the liver due to too many Lechaims.
