A modern menorah was placed by Chabad in the elegant surroundings of Piazza Bologna, in the heart of the Italian city of Rome.
The new candelabra replaced a temporary one that was used in the past two year by the local Shliach Rabbi Menachem Lazar.
It was dedicated in memory of Mrs. Rachel Teshuva OBM. Her husband, Shalom Teshuva, President of the Bet E-l shul in the city, was there for the lighting.
Also in attendance were Rome’s Head Shliach Rabbi Itzchak Hazan, Dario Marcucci, president of the third district of Rome, Guido Capraro, member of the third district who asked for a permanent Menorah and Federico Rocca of the Municipality of Rome.
Following the lighting Sushi and doughnuts were served at the Daruma Sushi Kosher located in the plaza.
