Reb Dovid was not a gabbi. Reb Dovid besides all his other jobs would lain for the rebbe.
Rabbi Dovid Raskin, the Gabbai, would call the Rebbe with the nusach: יעמוד אדוננו מורנו ורבינו בן הרב רבי לוי יצחק. Watch minute 1:04 in this video.
Can anyone clarify how they called the rebbe to the torah?
