The group of Crown Heights residents, businessmen, and activists, who have recently returned from a 5-day solidarity mission in Israel, shared a special moment.
During their trip, the group headed out to a farm in southern Israel, to volunteer with the agricultural work. With many migrant workers fleeing the country due to war, the Jewish-owned farms are in danger, they have barely any help and workers.
And so, these urbanite Lubavitchers, with no agricultural experience, headed to a farm which has been replanted from Gush Katif, and now, years later, is in peril once again with only 20 people of their workforce remaining from 150.
They have also met with Rabbi Yigal Kirshenzaft and his sons, who were the Shluchim in Gush Katif itself and are new serving those evacuated to Nitzan.
Many have been volunteering on the farms to help during this crisis, and while they were there, they noticed a fellow volunteer working by himself, so they approached him to introduce themselves.
They discovered that he is Robert Parker, a prominent lawyer from Washington, DC in the United States, of the firm of Rothwell Figg, who was also on a solidarity trip to assist in the country.
Upon further conversation with Rabbi Moshe Pinson, founder of Bais Shmuel and one of the organizers of the trip, Parker told them he is one of the lawyers working for over 10 years with the Cunin family on the sanctions on Russia due to them not releasing the Seforim of the Library of the Chabad Rebbes.
From there, the group went to Kiryat Malachi where the Nathan family is sitting Shiva for their son, fallen soldier Yissachar Nathan HY”D who was raised in the Nachlat Har Chabad neighborhood.
