This year, the Chabad Chanukah Telethon welcomed the youngest member of the “Dancing Rabbis” troupe, 9-year-old Leibel Paltiel of Port Washington, NY.
The Dancing Rabbis are a highlight of the annual Telethon, which raises funds for the work of NCFJE of Long Island, NY.
“We dedicated this year’s telethon to the Year of Hakhel,” noted Rabbi Anchelle Perl, host of the Telethon.
The emcee was Nachum Segal who led the evening with segment hosts Mickey B, Bernie Furshpan, Leni Goldsmith, Jay Mostel and Kive Strickoff.
Entertainers included the Frisch School Jazz band, Cantor Natanel Hershtik, Paul Shapiro, the Jewish rocker Lenny Solomon of the Shlock Rock band, and the Neshoma Orchestra with Steve Bill.
“Behind the fun and entertainment of the Chabad Chanukah Telethon is a very serious purpose,” explains Rabbi Perl.
“It’s all about meeting the serious challenges of our times, it’s all about providing a warm ‘home away from home’ for those who fall between the cracks.”
so cute!

ps next time Rabbi Perl should provide a Kapota for him in his size. Then that would perfect the dancing Rabbi look.
