Hard of hearing? Most of us are impaired.

A Chassidishe Rebbe in Boro Park, many years ago, was addressing a large group of Rabbanan (100, maybe 1,000). One of the issues was shidduchim for people with hearing aids. It seemed that people who needed that were less desirable.
He told the crowd,”Okay. Everyone, please take off your glasses.” They did. “Now, look at the clock and tell me what time it is.” They could not. “Guess what, you’re all handicapped!”

thank you

It is certainly a tremendous Boon to include the Deaf and Hard of Hearing! Please do not use Hearing Impaired! Also it is Cues referring to Visual methods not Clues.

Maze tov to JLI for making a difference. Not only deaf and hard of hearing people can benefit, everyone can as well. Keep up the wonderful work.

I was impressed to read about this great initiative. Many people do not realize the world of difference that is made when captions are added to a video. Keep up the great work, JLI!

This is amazing! I know some deaf Jewish women who would love to attend classes where they are thought of in such a dignified way. Kol Hakovod JLI and Rosh Chodesh Society. May the new year bring you lots of success.
