Rabbi Mendel Goldberg, Director of the Chabad Lubavitch Jewish Center of Playa del Carmen, Mexico, has put his center on the map.
The Tanya map, that is.
It has been a tradition in Chabad to print an edition of the Tanya, the foundational text of Chassidic philosophy, in large cities and remote villages around the world.
One of the goals is to fulfill the promise told to the Baal Shem Tov that Moshiach will come when the wellsprings of Chassidus will flow the world over.
Over 5,000 editions were printed since 1796 when Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, the Alter Rebbe, first articulated the mystical teachings of Kabbalah and Chassidus.
Local Jewish residents and Israeli tourists joined the historic printing that took place this past month in the Chabad center and immediately began learning from the freshly printed pages.
Children in the community took part in the celebration in their own way with a special rally with Shlucha Chaya Goldberg. They said the 12 pesukim, sang Jewish songs and made arts and crafts to take home.
Rabbi Goldberg thanked Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, his brother Rabbi Mendel Kotlarsky and Rabbi Schneur Nejar of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch for the support this past month and throughout the year.

Your favorite cousins in CH
MENDEL A – TORONTO nice to here from you again since we lately correspond by email need your address again?
We had the opportunity to visit Rabbi and Mrs. Goldberg a few months ago and they had extended to us the most beautiful Hachnasas Orchim, They went out of their way to make sure that we were taken care of and spent time with us on a busy Friday afternoon. They are Shluchim who are living in Playa Del Carmen on Mesirus Nefesh, and were just simply an inspiration the way they live their life, educate their children, and are a source of Nachas to the Rebbe.
