Tank Parade Takes Over London

In honor of the Rebbe’s 115th birthday, London took the challenge and succeeded in pulling of a beautiful Mitzvah Tank Parade.

The 7 Mitzvah tanks paraded through the Frum community, attracting much positive attention and excitement from those who saw it passing. The Tanks then moved on to Central London, crossed Westminster Bridge, passed by Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, and the Houses of Parliament.

After the beautiful Kiddush Hashem and the large amount of publicity, each tank continued onto its individual destination where the ‘tankistin’ (as the Rebbe would fondly call the Bochurim and Balabatim who would ride the tanks) spent the rest of the day laying Tefillin, giving out Shmura Matzah and helping people sell their Chometz.

An added bonus to this whole project is the Tefiilin that was put on by the RV rental mechanic, who has not put on Tefillin in 40 years!

After hearing the mechanic introduce himself as ‘Dovid Ben Chaim’ – the driver asked him to take Matzah and put on Tefillin, he hesitated and then refused but with a bit of convincing he relented and agreed to be helped with Tefillin.

A few minutes later, enwrapped in Tefillin he began crying, and expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the experience he had just been given. Dovid Ben Chaim has now been put in touch with his closest Shliach and has signed a form for the selling of his Chometz!
