The legendary staff of TAG Academy and VIP Bochurim are gearing up for what promises to be another amazing summer program for Bochurim aged 15 – 18. The camp will run for five weeks, from July 10 – August 14, 2023.
The summer program will once again be hosted in South Florida on the beautiful, 6.5 acre, lakefront campus of Chabad SWB in Cooper City, also home to the trailblazing TAG Academy.
Under the leadership of Rabbi Zalmy Raksin and Rabbi Pinny Andrusier, TAG-VIP is excited to announce that Ari Holtzman will be coming on board as Head Shliach. Ari has compiled a terrific team of Shluchim and staff to ensure each teen enjoys a most incredible and spiritually uplifting summer.
Celebrating its 14th year, the VIP summer program prides itself for being on the cutting edge of Jewish education, finding innovative ways for the teens to connect to Hashem and Chassidishkeit. TAG-VIP has built its sterling reputation by employing out of the box methodology and offering uniquely creative activities to keep the teens engaged and excited about their Yiddishkeit and summer experience.
For instance, their “Five-Alive” method of group learning is already widely successful and extremely popular with the Bochurim who have participated in the past. “Five – Alive” is in fact now being used by many Yeshivos throughout the world.
Unique to this summer’s schedule, TAG-VIP will add several hands-on courses and activities designed to provide each Bochur with life-long skills, while simultaneously keeping them intrigued, engaged and excited.
Some of the courses planned include:
Introductory Hatzalah Training – Hatzalah paramedic Thomas Diner will be training the teens in a comprehensive 5 week CPR, Advanced First-Aid and introductory EMT course.
Advanced Krav Maga – To instill confidence, emotional and physical strength, team building and leadership skills, Shomer 360’s Captain Eilon Even-Esh, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and an elite unit of the IDF, will be teaching advanced Krav-Maga, Martial Arts and other tactical exercises within a Torah-observant framework.
Option for Scuba Diving course – Plans are also underway for the teens to become licensed scuba divers.
In addition, the summer schedule will be packed with memorable trips, shabbatons, and exciting adventures throughout Florida.
The Chabad SWB Campus has proven to be the perfect home to TAG and VIP. Centrally located between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, the center offers countless amenities including a full gym, creative arts studio, swimming pool, spacious dorm rooms with private bathrooms, recreational lounge, and a beautiful lake with kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. The campus provides for the bochurim the ideal environment to grow physically, mentally, intellectually, and spiritually.
“We have no words to express our gratitude and appreciation for VIP and really for every day at TAG,” One VIP-TAG Mother writes. “Every day my son is made to feel like a million bucks. Every day he feels comfortable, safe, and accepted. Truly incredible!”
Limited Space Available for Summer: The summer program will take place July 10 / 21 Tamuz – August 14 / 27 Av. Many of the summer registrants have already also applied to remain in the fall, to join for the new school year at TAG. Registration for the summer and/or school year is quickly filling up.
